Date(s):  December 2-3, 2016 @ 6:30pm
Venue: Bridgewater Channel
Admission: Free
Website: www.lbycboatparadeoflights.com

Contact: Tammy Kastelz  –  tkastelz@gmail.com    928-486-4159

*Announcement:  Even though the winds are forecast to be higher than ideal, the Boat Parade of Lights will go on as scheduled.
Description: The Annual Boat Parade of Lights is in its 34th year and has been the must-see event of the holiday season. Lake Havasu City’s Boat Parade of Lights has been repeatedly selected as one of the top 100 events in the U.S. by the American Bus Association. Up to 50 boats brightly decorated in their holiday best will delight children and adults alike. Watch the boats cruise through the Bridgewater Channel beginning in Thompson Bay and continuing under the London Bridge to the north end of the Channel, with a turnaround at Windsor Beachand back. Bundle up and take a stroll through the Channel – the only time you’ll see the Channel packed full of boats and boaters in winter gear at night. Come cozy up with family and friends and create treasured memories of a favorite holiday tradition!
Bonfires will be permitted throughout the Channel on the island side beach areas but must be contained in a portable, self-contained fire pit. All ashes must be removed entirely and the area left clean. Absolutely no digging of fire pits in the sand and no dumping of ashes in the water. The area will be patrolled throughout the evening. BON FIRES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE NEW WHITE SAND BEACHES AT THE NORTH END OF CHANNEL.

There will be great viewing at the Nautical Beachfront Resort (the starting point of the Parade of Lights), Rotary Beach, throughout the Channel on both sides between Rotary Beach and Windsor Beach, the English Village, across the London Bridge, and at any of the restaurants along the Channel.*

*If you plan on watching from the Channel restaurants, early reservations are recommended.

There is no charge to view The 34th Annual Boat Parade. Plenty of free parking is available at the English Village and in the parking areas on the island near the Channel. Plan to get there early as traffic around the London Bridge can become congested.

Lake Havasu (Summer Series)

We hope everyone had a great weekend, in this weekends summer series we wanted to share with everyone some of the great tours we have available in LHC and surrounding areas.

Take a boat tour upriver through Topock Gorge, or a 23-minute ferry ride across the lake to the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation. Traverse remote desert terrain in a Jeep or paddle down the Colorado River through Bill Williams National Wildlife Refuge by kayak. Soar through the air like a bird in an ultralight or explore the deepest part of Lake Havasu (88 feet) as a diver, exploring artificial habitats constructed to protect big river fish.

There’s more to Arizona indoor and outdoor adventures than meets the eye

Lake Havasu City’s Arizona adventure tours aren’t just sights and sounds, there are plenty of educational opportunities along the way. Learn how we went from an empty patch of desert to the greatest city on Earth (okay, we might be a little biased), find out details on the relocation of the London Bridge and the eccentric chain saw magnate behind the move, or go treasure hunting with an expert rock hound.

Even though there’s plenty of self-guided exploring to be done around Lake Havasu City, our expert, friendly and fun tour guides offer some of the best Arizona adventure tours around. Add an affordable tour-a-day to your Lake Havasu City stay and get the most out of touring around Arizona’s Playground.

Lake Havasu (Summer Edition)

Happy Friday! This is part 3 of a Summer Series; we hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer so far. In this weeks series we are going to touch on Lake Havasu City Boating!

Enjoy one of the best boating lakes in Arizona and the U.S.

Boaters traveling under the London Bridge crossing the Bridgewater Channel Canal near Lake Havasu, one of the most visited Arizona boating lakes

The waters of Lake Havasu are sparkling clear and warm, making it one of the best boating lakes in Arizona and also a perfect destination for fishing, swimming, and all types of water recreation. There are no size restrictions or speed limits on the lake, with the exception of the no-wake zones clearly posted where a more conservative speed is appropriate.

From boaters with high-performance race boats to those with cruising pontoon boats, there’s plenty of room and lots to do. In addition to the Bridgewater Channel near the famed London Bridge, Lake Havasu has a wealth of hidden coves and beaches that are perfect places to relax for the day, or you can opt to explore the river, with its canyons, cliffs, and abundant wildlife. Water temperatures range from 75 to 85 degrees during much of the year, perfect for a quick dip.

Unlike many other lakes in Arizona, Lake Havasu remains at a near constant water elevation that rarely varies more than four feet, providing boaters with ideal conditions year-round and contributing to its reputation as one of the best boating lakes around. The average depth of Lake Havasu is 35 ft, with the deepest point being approximately 90 ft. There’s ample access to lake beaches and other beautiful natural areas with amenities such as barbecue grills, portable restrooms, and shaded picnic tables to enhance a boating experience unlike any other in Arizona.

Rent a boat or bring your own – don’t miss this Arizona boating experience!

The nine motorized launch ramps in the area provide convenient access to the lake, and seven fueling docksensure that you can explore all the boating Lake Havasu has to offer without fear of running out of gas.Venturing up river towards Topock? No fear, as there are two fuel docks open 24-hours if you feel like taking a longer ride.

If you’re new to boating, or haven’t decided on your dream boat yet, there are many Lake Havasu boat rental companies that have a wide range of watercraft to choose from. They’ll even launch the boat for you, so you can enjoy one of America’s best boating lakes worry-free.
